Royal TS is an extensive tool for teams and several platforms. If you work alone on Windows and mainly want to connect quickly and securely, NEO RDP Manager is the leaner choice – without licence management.
As of October 2026. Information on Royal TS based on publicly available vendor information; editions and prices may change.
| Criterion | NEO RDP Manager | Royal TS |
|---|---|---|
| Price | free | paid licence, usable for free with limits |
| Platforms | Windows 10/11 | Windows (Royal TS) and macOS (Royal TSX) |
| Protocols | RDP, SSH, VNC, Telnet, RAW, Rlogin, PowerShell, HTTP/S, own programs | very many, plus integrations |
| Teamwork | no – local by design | shared documents, server component |
| Credentials | vault with master password, inheritance via folders | credential objects, document password |
| mRemoteNG import | yes, including passwords | import features available |
| Learning curve | low – list, search, tabs | higher – very many options |
No documents, no licence keys, no server component: install, set a master password, import connections – done.
Folders with inherited credentials, reusable credentials, tabs, full screen, detaching, external tools and Wake-on-LAN – the tools of the admin trade are there.
Team sharing, cross-platform use on macOS, numerous integrations and a central server component. If you need those, Royal TS is the better fit.
Admins who look after their servers alone on Windows, value a local vault and come from mRemoteNG or RDCMan.
For working alone on Windows with RDP, SSH, VNC, Telnet and PowerShell: yes. Team features, macOS and Royal TS's many integrations are deliberately not part of it.
There is no direct import of Royal TS documents. The detour goes through a format both understand – such as .rdp files or a file in mRemoteNG format.
